Dr. Sharmayne R. Rutledge

Founder and Chief Performance Officer

For 20 years, Dr. Sharmayne Rutledge has transformed the lives of students through high-quality education. She has filled every role that impacts students, including teacher, assistant principal, principal, principal supervisor, and district administrator. Her accolades are numerous. Dr. Rutledge was recognized as simi-finalist and finalist for Louisiana's Principal of the Year. Previously, Dr. Rutledge supervised traditional and magnet school principals resulting in over 80% of schools increasing their School Performance Score (SPS). She has also been awarded many grants and resources because of her vision and commitment that all learners – regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status, school setting, learning style, or special needs –receive high-quality learning.


As the Chief Executive Officer of Invicta Consulting, LLC, Dr. Rutledge will continue to impact education by transforming educational experiences. Dr. Rutledge has served as an Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction with East Baton Rouge Parish School System (EBRPSS), which was comprised of the Office of Teaching and Learning. Her role included setting the vision and managing implementation for the following departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Development, Foreign Language, and Technology Integration.


As an inclusive leader who creates leadership opportunities, recently, Dr. Rutledge has worked with internal and external stakeholders to transition the district’s learning from brick and mortar to virtual learning during COVID-19. She has strong relationships with the State Department of Education as she works with them to ensure compliance with state initiatives.


Dr. Rutledge attended Southern University (2000 and 2002), Northcentral University (2016), and received her Doctorate of Philosophy from Louisiana State University (2016). Her dissertation was titled, “What Do Teachers Know About Differentiated Instruction”.


Dr. Rutledge was born in Panama. She enjoys mentoring and traveling. She is a member of True Vine Baptist Church where she has been a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. Dr. Rutledge is happily married to Attorney Domoine D. Rutledge and together they have two sons, Darren and Dillon Rutledge.

Leadership development is one of the most impactful ​ways to improve learner and community outcomes. ​Through coaching and mentoring, I assist leaders ​develop conditions that focus on student ​achievement, culturally relevant pedagogy, team ​development, community partnership, and leadership ​pipelines. I work with leaders to identify and develop ​priorities, key performance indicators, short and long - ​term goals, and an attainable plan of action.



TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

Leading the technology integration ​department for over 5 years, I created a ​technology relevant district which ​served over 41,500 students and 4000 ​teachers. Incorporating appropriate ​resources into the curriculum ensures ​students are equipped with age-​appropriate 21st century skills through ​age appropriate collaboration tools. ​Learners enjoy safely fostering online ​collaboration while being digitally aware ​of their footprints, learning pathway, ​and learning goals.

BUDGET ADVISEMENT

Every organization needs a “plan.” ​Invicta Consulting prioritizes clients ​individual needs by working through ​a series of sessions to develop the ​clients appropriate strategic ​roadmap. This process includes ​conducting a needs assessment, ​which includes listening to ​stakeholders, conducting a data-​driven inquiry session, and identifying ​future-ready key performance ​indicators. As a result, the strategic ​plan includes short-term and long-​term goals, progress monitoring, key ​performance indicators and key ​priorities. Budget alignment is key to ​ensuring success. I assist with ​identifying and prioritizing student ​academic success through ​budget advisement program ​review, program ​recommendations, and provide ​budget recommendations to align ​learner needs with fiscal ​resources.

Having the right program is as ​important as having the right educator. ​Based on current and trend data, ​identified goals and desired outcomes, ​I work with leaders to identify the ​supplemental programs that will ​complement the core program and ​support the needs of the learners. And ​I won’t stop there. I will also ensure ​each program has an implementation ​plan suited for thee needs of the ​leaders and learners that includes ​progress monitoring and performance ​action steps.


How often do you communicate with your clients?

I "meet" as many times as the client needs throughout the process. Each client's needs are different; therefore, I do not ​predetermined schedule for everyone. Instead, I do whatever it takes to help each individual to navigate the process ​smoothly. For some clients, this requires frequent points of communication, which can take place in person, by phone, ​text, email, and/or Zoom.
